Earlier this week, we asked you to think about what type of opportunities would be relevant to your goals and to research some specific opportunities you would like to apply for. As a follow-up to this previous prompt, we invite our readers and bloggers to take the responses from earlier this week and create a personal work plan or schedule. Trying to swallow everything at once can be overwhelming, and just as how long-distance runners take marathons one mile at a time, so should we complete larger tasks one step at a time. Here are some things to think about:
- What are the separate documents, steps, and other criteria required for each application?
- Realistically, how long would completing each step take?
- Are there any steps that are dependent on others?
With this information, create a work schedule that lists specific deadlines for the completion of each requirement, making sure that lengthier, higher-priority steps are begun earlier, and that all steps are completed by the final application deadline.
